Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival

Saturday, April 25 is the Family Nature Fair portion of the VV Birding and Nature Fest!'

In addition to general exhibits, scheduled events include:

8am - 10:30am: Beginning Birding for Kids
11am - 12 pm: Venomous Critters
2pm - 3pm: Bighorn Sheep

Here's some info from their website -

Participants to the Fair DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER FOR THE BIRDING FESTIVAL and to attend need only pay the usual park entrance fee.

Starting with the Beginning Birding for Kids we will have a series of special programs just for kids and their families.

Along with educational exhibits, we will be crafting bird feeders, building birdhouses, and playing games that make learning fun. Special presentations geared to the family will be available. Live animals will delight the curious. The “Duck Pond” is a favorite of the young crowd and the rock wheel gives everyone a sample to take home. We have some really exciting plans. Check in at the children’s registration booth for a complete schedule, your nametags and 10 free activity tickets per child. Additional tickets can be purchased for fifty cents each.

The following activities are also available to Family Nature Fair participants:

Exhibit Tent and Educational Displays
Talk with the people who know. Fun and interesting stuff awaits you. You may even find some great bargains among our many vendors.

Animals
Visit the Arizona Game and Fish booth in the exhibit tent to see live animals.

Mrs. B’s Bugs and Birds Booth
This is where the action is for kids of all ages. You can play games and make crafts. We will be making birdhouses and feeders. One ticket will get you one activity.

Classes & Walks
Beginning Birding for Kids will give kids a fun start on a life-long hobby. After the fun interactive class, a walk with binoculars will polish those new skills. Walks for adults include a beginning birding walk, armchair birding, edible plant walk and a river walk. Sign up for walks at the registration tent as there are a limited number of spaces available.

Special Surprise Guests
Who knows who just might fly, hop or buzz in for a visit.
Be sure to plan plenty of time for this fun, “wild”, family outing.
